Nestled in the center of Barbaresco, just down the road from some of the region's A-list, Produttori del Barbaresco, Gaja, and Roagna, Luigi Giordano's legacy dates back to the 1930's with close to fifty years of estate bottling. This noted history in the region has allowed the Giordano winery to acquire holdings in some of Barbaresco's most vaunted and classic representations of its varied terroirs. All of their reds are aged in large Slavonian cask, typical of the region, which promotes a clear sense of place and purity of grape varietal. 'Montestefano' has long been one of Barbaresco's most coveted vineyard site with its steep, southern exposition in view of the nearby Tanaro River. Due to the vineyard's proclivity to produce structured wines of weight and concentration, some have dubbed this precious parcel the Barolo of Barbaresco.
