Pio Cesare is a family-owned winery located in the Piedmont region of Italy. The winery was founded in 1881 by Pio Cesare, and today it is run by his great-grandson, Pio Boffa. Pio Cesare produces a range of wines, including Barolo, Barbaresco, Barbera d'Alba, Dolcetto d'Alba, Moscato d'Asti, and a white blend called "Piodilei." Pio Cesare is known for its traditional winemaking methods, which involve using large oak barrels and minimal intervention in the vineyards. The winery also sources its grapes from some of the best vineyards in the region, ensuring that only the highest quality grapes are used in the production of its wines. Pio Cesare's wines are known for their elegance, balance, and complexity, and they have received numerous awards and accolades from wine critics and enthusiasts around the world.

"Very beautiful aromas of berry, tar and rose follow through to a full-bodied palate, with fine tannins and a long finish of berry and vanilla. Very, very impressive. Polished and structured. Best after 2010, (WS, 94 points)".
