Jean-Paul Jamet implements an ‘old school’ vinification mentality at his eponymous domaine in Côte-Rôtie, which incorporates whole-cluster inclusion, steel fermentations, and long elevages in cask. His Côte-Rôtie is meaty and peppery, marked by flavors of dark black fruits, purple flowers, and licorice. This thick and concentrated wine remains rather juicy, though its powerful tannins will benefit from a few years of aging.
