While meaty Nuits and earthy Gevrey lie in wait for cool Fall evenings, mid-Summer is the perfect time for Chambolle's breathy charm.  This list runs the village’s full stylistic spectrum.  You’ll find refreshingly accessible magnums and well-priced up-and-comers alongside the more obvious stable of Chambolle icons.

A couple thoughts.  The ’21s from Anne Gros are worthy successors to the domaine’s superb ‘19s.  Stylistically the two vintages couldn’t be more different yet each achieves an exceptionally rare level of purity and textural refinement.  As usual the Chambolle ‘La Combe d’Orveaux’ is the strongest value in the cellar. Felettig and Lignier-Michelot remain two of Chambolle’s most compelling value propositions.

Felettig’s ’17 Chambolle premier cru is a model of lacy refinement while Virgile Lignier’s ’19 ‘Cuvée Jules’ offers its delicious black cherry fruit with deeper and lusher framing.

Cheers,

Jason
