Here they are: the much-anticipated '22s from one of Meursault's most perfectionist domaines. Please know that quantities are embarrassingly thin, in fact even more than usual.
Our first offer of these several years back required up-and-comer backgrounding though by now the B-B cult has swelled to the point that one is no longer needed. Instead, a few comments on the offered cuvées:
The ‘Bourgogne - Initiales B.B.’ is a full under-the-hood of the domaine’s stylistic uniqueness. It receives 18-months in wood on lees and develops the same textural richness as its cellarmates. Never a ‘little wine.’
The Meursault ’Les Tillets’ has been impressively on the come for the last few years. From a little strip of vines at the top of the vineyard that gives the domaine’s most essential and vital cuvée.
As usual the Meursault 'Genevrières' continues to angle for the most persuasive example of this singular terroir. Vines in both the upper and lower portions of the vineyard (dessus, dessous) create a wonderful composite, uniting the ginger/white tea exotics of the top portion with the fruit weight of the lower.
Cheers,
Jason
