I feel fortunate to offer this super rare cuvée from PVG. It’s 100% Charmes-Dessous, however, Pierre wants to call it Charmes du Milieu since the plot is in the heart of Les Charmes. It’s a classic Charmes with incredible power and richness yet also the classic tension and brightness of 2017. The wine is incredibly welcoming with a touch of struck match, lemon-lime spice, hazelnut, and a super savory expression from the extended lees aging. Amazingly it kept building as it opened. Pierre made 890 bottles of Meursault Charmes in 2017. Electric. - Daniel
One of our shortest offers in terms of quantity, but such a cool opportunity that we couldn’t resist. 2017 is Pierre-Vincent’s first vintage, and the ‘Charmes’ one of his finest debut efforts. Already in his first vintage you feel PV’s intuitive mastery of reductive winemaking; this wine has a tensile and sculpted feel throughout, a focused attack together with a generous richness that builds with time in the glass. The sunny and gregarious character of ‘Charmes’ is here met with a textural refinement that we have now come to associate with this white Burgundy master. - Jason
