Wherever you start with Amélie's 2023s you sense quickly how positively the vintage has responded to her delicate touch. Yet 'delicate' will at first seem altogether wrong for such substance-rich wines. What is ‘light’ about them is their structural nimbleness, which is to say less-is-more tannic profiles that allow place and fruit to shine.
You notice this most in the Fixins. Out of context, our tasting vocabulary would be difficult to assign to 2023: cheerful, vivid, hi-def, why-does-this-taste-like-pomegranates?
Among the most vital and particularized 2023s tasted to date.
Cheers,
