Vieux Donjon was formed in 1966 by Marcel Michel and since 1979 has been managed by Lucien Michel and Marie Michel. Following in the footsteps of the family their daughter Claire Fabre (manages Vieux Donjon along with her brother François Michel. Prior, Claire had a chance work in California with Harlan Estate and few other wineries. Vieux Donjon vineyards are old Grenache vines planted on sandy soils not too far Chateau Rayas, Cabrieres and Mont Redon. Usually a blend of 75% Grenache, 10% Mouvedre, 10% Syrah and 5% Cinsault.
