History of the Brand
Who We Are
Co-founders Jason Jacobeit and Daniel Jung began planning their retail project through the 2010s while helming the wine programs at Burgundy-centric Bâtard and Grand Award-winning Tribeca Grill. Motivated by the desire to bridge retail and hospitality the pair launched Somm Cellars in late 2020. The brand debuted a second location in Menlo Park, California in October 2025.
Vision
Somm Cellars aims to combine a hospitality-oriented retail experience with an exceptionally deep wine and spirits portfolio. Old World benchmarks are a specialty, Burgundy in particular. ‘Golden Age’ California is another area of strength.
Our ‘After-Hour’ events - 101-style tastings as well as Masterclass series - add world-class tasting lineups to our warmly sophisticated in-store experience.
