So turns out you absolutely can still find nowhere-but-Burgundy aromatics and textural refinement south of $30. We never stop searching for such wines and, when we find them, can't help ourselves from going all Tony Robbins. The truth is that Burgundy wines at this price and quality are needed reminders that despite all the region's lore and routinely stratospheric prices she remains inexhaustibly value-generous.
Here is the Platonic Ideal of a house white. It is delicious and easy to see into yet complex enough to sustain attention across many bottles. For the first half hour the wine is a little soupçon of lemon and stones, so far so good. Less accountable though are the ginger and chamomile notes that slowly seep into the edges of the fruit and, in doing so, impress the complexity of a good villages.
You’ll need at least half a case on both Thanksgiving and Christmas alone so consider snagging what you need before this modest parcel disappears.
Cheers,
Jason
