This just-acquired Roumier parcel covers an impressive spread of appellations, excellent provenance and sharp pricing being shared features among them.

The Bourgogne is perennially among the lowest pH wines in the cellar and a strong warm vintage-performer on this account.  This ’22 gives us all the year’s generosity and none of its (potential) excess.

‘Combottes’ and ‘Cras’ verticals suggest fascinating side-by-sides.  To taste Christophe’s ‘20s and ‘21s in tandem is to discover two poles of Burgundy’s stylistic diversity.  Dark and mercurial, the ’20s feel a universe removed from the unaccountably open and red-spectrumed ‘21s.

Cheers,

Jason
