Very exciting to have at long last received another parcel of this fine wine, the star of one of our fastest selling offers ever. There, I mentioned blinding friends with the bottle, and recently I was blinded by a friend on this. I won't say what I called*, but what a true stunner this is. Vincent Legou spent nearly a decade at Domaine de la Romanée Conti before charting out on his own in 2008. He has brought DRC‘s philosophy of late picking, whole cluster, and use of high-quality, stylishly integrated oak to his own wines.

If you are looking for a true hidden gem in Burgundy, this is it.  Legou Vosne Romanée 2017 is beautifully nuanced and lacy with delicious cherry and strawberry notes. The aromatics are for me the star of the wine and the nose is full of dried flowers with classic Vosne spice and ripe stems. The palate is well balanced with layers upon layers of ripe red fruit yet still light and bright toned. It finishes with hints of rose and mint with terrific cut excellent persistence. - Daniel

There is something assured about Vincent’s wines, an effortless expressiveness that seems particular to Burgundy’s most compelling wines. With this wine, one doesn’t have to search to locate Vosne, but rather it runs to greet you, arms outstretched. The violet and spice character is less 'suggested' than insisted upon. This is just a remarkably stylish villages. - Jason

I tasted this bottle a week ago and was floored by its quality. The two sommeliers I blinded this on (both of whom I regard as excellent blind tasters) called Grivot Vosne and Mugneret-Gibourg Nuits 1er Cru Chaignots; I found those to be fine calls for one reason or another. The wine manages to weave its whole cluster in impeccably and there is more exotic black fruit than one might expect. The palate has a persistent cool character which is captivating. This wine is voluptuous, persistent, refined and harmonious. Direct from the domaine, this is the only availability in the US.  What more is there to say?
