The house uses a solera system which is more commonly associated with Sherry production as well as, in more recent years, been the first sparkling wine house to advocate showcasing the terroir of Champagne. In 1980, Jacques’ son, Anselme, took over the estate and changed the process of how the wines were being made. He cut the yields, rid the land of chemicals, and began focusing on grand cru vineyards. Additionally, dosage is kept at an absolute minimum and in fall of 2010 Jacques Selosse made headlines when they released a collection of six different single-vineyard wines from honored villages in the region. Today the domaine produces nearly 5,000 cases of superior Champagne every year full of emotion, memories, and nonconformity.
