This is a new wine for us from Julien Altaber and Carole Schwab and a very special one indeed.
The Chardonnay grapes are sourced from 70 year old vines at Domaine de Surremain (Château de Monthelie) that they maintain in the Rully area. The soil is clay and limestone and the exposition south-east. It was directly pressed and the wine aged in barrels on its lees for 18 months. Its minerality is quite Juraesque.
