Located at the foothills of the Madeleine Mountains, the 200 hectares of the Côte Roannaise AOP are amongst the original vineyards of the Loire Valley. While geographically and officially part of the Loire, the Côte Roannaise is closer in distance, geology, and winemaking to Beaujolais.
The 2021 Domaine Sérol Côte Roannaise Eclat de Granite has aromas and flavors of black cherries and black raspberries interwoven with notes of brambly earth, savory herbs, woodsmoke, and stony minerality. The palate is medium-to-full-bodied and silky, with bright acidity that brings it to a long finish.
