Aux Craz is one of four wines that Domaine de la Grosse Pierre produce from their seven hectares of old vine Chiroubles. It’s a particularly cool high altitude spot with unforgivingly shallow topsoil that forces the forty year old vines to dig deep into the rocks.
The resulting wine is strikingly perfumed with a cool minerality and fine rocky tannin. It's so crunchy its almost edgy but the skilful Passot has smoothed out the sharp edges and the finish is detailed and supple. Another wonderfully terroir driven wine from a Beaujolais star in the making.
