1996 Château d'Angludet, Margaux

Château Angludet, owned by the Sichel family since 1961, is a historic Médoc property dating back to the 12th century. Its vineyard configuration has largely remained unchanged since 1758, with 93% of its area consistently cultivating vines for over 250 years. Located on a gravel plateau overlooking the Gironde estuary, the 32-hectare vineyard within the AOC Margaux region is known for producing wines of concentration, finesse, and elegance. 


To produce the wine, Chateau d’Angludet is vinified in traditional, large, concrete vats. Malolactic fermentation takes place in vat. The wine is then aged in a combination of 33% clay amphora, 33% new, French oak barrels and the remainder of used barrels for 12 to 14 months depending on the character of the vintage. On average Chateau d’Angludet releases close to 10,000 cases of wine per year. There is a second wine, La Ferme d’Angludet.
