From the small hamlet of Gamay, adjacent to Saint-Aubin, brothers Benoît and Jean-Baptiste Bachelet craft slowly-aged white and red wines of refinement, poise and elegance. The brothers have catapulted the family domaine to an unprecedented level of high-quality 100% estate winemaking as their predecessors sold a bulk of their fruit to négociants. White wines are certainly their calling card, utilizing only spontaneous fermentation with aging on the fine lees lasting over two winters in barrel. The most cherished of the Bachelets' honorable rank of vineyards is their six rows of Grand Cru 'Bienvenues-Bâtard-Montrachet'. Filling just one large brand new demi-muid each vintage, this sumptous expression of power, density and remarkable persistence is shockingly good.
