Beaucastel, one of the most famous estates in CDP dates back to 1549, when Pierre de Beaucastel purchased the original parcel of vineyard in the Coudoulet appellation. In the 20th century, Beaucastel was acquired by Pierre Tramier, after being replaced by his son-in-law Pierre Perrin (who was succeeded by Jacques Perrin). Today, fourth generation in the Perrin family continue the tradition, headed by Marc, Thomas, Pierre and Mathieu Perrin. As tradition the estate blends all 13 grapes varietals allowed by AOC law, usually 30% Grenache, 30% Mourvedre, 10% Syrah, plus other varieties.
