With his first vintage in 1956, Henri became the 12th generation of his family to make wine in Châteauneuf du Pape. Only 6.5 hectares of vines spread among 13 different parcels most notably in La Crau and Courthezon. Since 2016 vintage Marcel Bonneau is in charge of the production of the estate. A traditionalist to the core, Bonneau’s wines are 90% Grenache, plus the balance in Mourvèdre, Syrah, Counoise and Vaccarese, aged in old French oak for 3-5 years. Debuted in 1988 vintage, ‘Marie Beurrier’ takes its name from an aunt of Henri Bonneau.
