The Rotys family estate has existed since 1710 in Gevrey-Chambertin. Today, the Rotys control about 15 hectares of vines, and current winemaker Pierre-Jean Roty represents the 11th generation. The estate style is rich, powerful and sensual. The wines are matured in oak, normally not older than 2 year-old barrels from some of the oldest vines in the whole Côte d’Or (over 100 years old). ‘Pressonnier’ is a Gevrey-Chambertin in all but name, the parcel having been within the appellation boundary until 1964. The oldest vines here date from 1925.
