The ’22 Fred Cossard reds are so aromatically exuberant they seem to exist only at the edge of credibility. I nominate the Morey ‘Champ de la Vigne’ as the expressive non plus ultra among the little set we tasted. Tasting notes are useless here not because the wine fails to inspire them but because there simply isn’t enough space for their cataloging. The beverage in the glass seemed borderline bewitched.
