Many of you have tasted through the Sauzet ‘20s at our various in-store events over the past months.  And for good reason: the domaine has produced one of the finest overall sets and perhaps the strongest pound-for-pound wines in this routinely excellent White Burgundy vintage.

The domaine, of course, is best known for its impressive range of Puligny premiers and grands crus.  The Beaune ‘Les Pertuisots’ is a rarer bird, usually just a couple barrels.  It’s a lovely value sweet spot in the range, one in closer expressive proximity to its more famous cellarmates than the $65 price tag may suggest.

Our treat with ‘Les Pertuisots’ comes via a sense of generosity - both fruit and texture - that never spills into too-muchness.  Part of this must trace to choice mid-slope siting as well as the high percentage of stones in the soil.  The rest we can leave to a domaine that has been on an absolute tear of late.  ’19, ’20, ’21…

Cheers,

Jason
