Jean-Nicolas Méo's parcel of Échézeaux is located in the Les Rouges du Bas climat, which, perhaps counterintuitively, is in the upper part of Échézeaux. The 80% new oak is quite assertive at the moment but there's more than enough fruit weight and power to handle it. It's crunchy, chalky and refreshing, with good palate length and plenty in reserve.
