The Chartron family's history as vignerons goes back as far as back as 1859 twenty years before their home village of Puligny was able to append the Grand Cru of Montrachet to its name. Using their historic background in Puligny, the Chartron family has assembled a roster of enviable plots of some of the world's greatest white wine terroirs. Because of this collection of choice parcels, the style of vinfication chosen is one which allows the land do the talking, not overt stylistic winemaking techniques. For instance, fermentation and aging for top cuvées occurs in French oak never exceeding 40% new. This 'Vieilles Vignes' cuvée is a selection of plots going back as far as pre-WWII. This is a dynamic cuvée on its own but really speaks amongst a variety of fish and poultry dishes, especially those accented by cream and/or citrus.
