Historically referred to as the Côte-Rôtie "Classique", René Rostaing founded this estate in 1971 and absorbed top sites from his uncle, Marius Gentaz, and father-in-law, Albert Dervieux. Today the domaine sources grapes from prime holdings in La Landonne, Côte Blonde, La Viailliere and Côte Brune. Ampodium refers to the famed village of Ampuis where the vines are planted. Usually 95% Syrah – 5%Viognier.
