The history of the Domaine that lies in the heart of the village of Chambolle-Musigny, begins in the 1880s with Frédéric Mugnier’s great-great-grandfather Francois. Since 1985, the estate is led by Frédéric(the Grandson), after working as oil engineer, airplane pilot and attending oenology school in Beaune. Mugnier de-stems 100%, during fermentation punching down of the cap is very gentle and done relatively infrequently, and new oak usage is minimal.
