Immediately following WWII, Guy Larue found his family domaine in the hamlet of Gamay, just next to the burgeoning appellation of Saint-Aubin. Second and third generation Larue's run the estate comprised of 11 ha of white grapes and 6 ha of red grapes, highlighted by seven Premier Cru holdings. Moving increasingly towards a biodynamic-focused approach Domaine Larue is showing their dedication and concerted efforts are paying off with increased quality vintage after vintage. Named for its intensely rocky soil, 'Sous Roche Dumay' is a Premier Cru site sitting among the highest altitudes in the Côte de Beaune. Larue's effort here shows the flinty edge and finesse one would expect from a prime location but at a surprising value.
