Founded by in 1993 by Tino Colla, younger brother of Piemonte's venerable Beppe Colla, Poderi Colla offers classic expressions of Nebbiolo, Barbera, and Dolcetto. Under the tutelage of his older brother Beppe, the traditionally-minded legend who was the first to bottle a single vineyard Barolo in 1961, Tino was inspired to learn as much as he could about his region's winemaking culture. Bussia one of the Monforte commune's most celebrated crus first rose to fame under Prunotto, whose wines were made by Beppe for close to thirty-five vintages. While Bussia is a large cru, Colla's 'Dardi le Rose' is a fantastic south-facing plot, prized for decades for its wines of great longevity, pure red fruit and intensity.
