2015 Maison l'Envoyé Pinot Noir 'The Attaché,' Willamette Valley
SKU: B100 / P20 / 1658 /
Regular price $39.95Originating in Burgundy, Maison l'Envoye has scoured the globe in search of Pinot Noir excellence and unsung winegrowers. They now have winemaking footprints in Burgundy, Willamette Valley, Central Otago and Tasmania. 'The Attaché' Pinot was made with Louis-Michel Liger-Belair of Domaine du Comte Liger-Belair on board as a consultant and is barrel selection from alluvial and volcanic vineyard sites in the Willamette Valley. It is made using a whole-cluster fermentation and was aged for 12 months in French oak barriques, 35% of which were new.
'Limpid ruby-red. Racy, mineral-accented red fruit and floral pastille scents, along with suggestions of dried flowers, spicecake and woodsmoke. A vein of zesty minerality provides focus and lift to pliant raspberry and cherry cola flavors that flesh out and become sweeter with air. The spicy quality repeats strongly on the subtly tannic finish, which hangs on with excellent clarity and tenacity.' (92 points)
