2010 Salvestrin 'Three D - Dr. Crane Vineyard' Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley

'The more expensive 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon 3D (which stands for 3 blocks, 3 lots, 3 barrels, 3 daughters) is even better than the basic cuvee, but of course, there is virtually none of it. It possesses a black/purple color as well as a gorgeous perfume of black currants, blackberries, camphor, incense and hints of background wood and forest floor. Full-bodied, rich, pure and multidimensional, it is a killer Cabernet Sauvignon to drink over the next 25-30 years. Kudos to the Salvestrin family! Salvestrin can boast multiple generations farming its vineyards since 1932, so this is by no means a newcomer to the Napa Valley wine scene. These wines never seem to get old, and this will be one our grandchildren can enjoy circa 2050.' (97 points)
